Upstairs Bathroom Before and After

We changed up the upstairs bathroom with a can of paint and a new shower curtain. The color was just too dark for the bathroom in my opinion. It’s hard to tell from the picture, but it was this dark grayish purple color.

I feel like it’s so much more relaxing now! ❤️

Feature Friday// Car Seat Cover Kit

Y’all! My poor seats have seen it all. Kids, hot chocolate, coffee, or pop, and you know the rest. I can’t possibly be the only one with seats that look like these:

I’m so glad to be at a point in my life where I can budget a little money from my paychecks for spending money.

I think my car appreciates it too.

I’m loving these seat covers I got from Walmart, and they were only $25 for a 5 piece set. It came with that matching steering wheel cover too. ❤️ I got on walmart’s website, but they don’t carry this particular set online.

This set was a close second though. I decided if I wanted to get a bench seat cover, the one I got would probably match better. I just hadn’t budgeted enough to get the other sets that came with the bench seat cover as well.

I want to replace my floor mats next. Any recommendations?

Ohio Official

Two moving trucks later, and we are officially in the new house in Ohio. There are a lot of things to be done and a lot of painting to do, but I am happy to finally have my own space again. All these projects just mean more to share with you. ❤

Here's a glimpse into the house pre-move:

I'll be posting some other things while we are busy sorting through boxes and finding new homes for all the stuff.

Moving Day

Today is moving day into the new house in Ohio. Man, oh, man, is it going to feel good not living in a hotel anymore! The house has more of a country feel on the inside, and I can’t wait to help my mom transform it into a more modern contemporary style. This is going to be fun! Until then, I’ll leave you with a little peek of the house.

What’s your favorite way to relax after moving?

DIY // Hide Clutter on a Budget

My aunt has quite a bit of stuff upstairs that I didn’t want to move, so I just wanted a place to tuck it away until she had a chance to go through it. Here’s a cheap, inexpensive fix for hiding the clutter away. All you need is a tension rod, a curtain panel, and a space narrow enough to hang the panel. The tension rod and curtain panel cost a grand total of $6.

Twist the tension rod til its wide enough for the space. Put the curtain panel on the rod, and hang the panel. Voila!

DIY Tutorial // Hand Sewn Reading Nook Cushion

This project was so easy, even if you aren’t very skilled at sewing! The longest part of this was sewing by hand. If you have a sewing machine, this will be even quicker.

Here’s what you’ll need:

-poly foam

I got all of my supplies at Hobby Lobby! I scored some great fabric from their clearance section for $5, and the poly foam was on sale, too! I used my 40% off coupon on the sewing kit, but sometimes you can find those on sale for 50% off if you don’t already have one.

cushion steps

1. Measure and cut your fabric so you have an extra half inch on each side. For the size of this poly foam, you’ll need two pieces of fabric measuring 26″ x 26″.

2. Make sure that both pieces of fabric are facing inwards towards each other, so that you are looking at the back side of the pattern.

3. Sew 3 of the 4 sides together half of an inch in from the edge.

4. Turn the fabric right side out and place the foam in the fabric.

5. Stitch the last side up. Honestly, I wasn’t worried about how the last side looks because that’s the one going against the edge of the wall. Nobody will ever see that one.

6. Find the perfect spot for your cushion and enjoy!

Moving is stressful!

Man, oh, man! I forgot how stressful moving is! I haven’t accumulated a lot of stuff in the last several years, but it’s still stressing me out trying not to leave anything behind. I’ll have driven back and forth between Detroit and Cleveland three times in an 8 day span. I start my new job in Ohio today, but I’ll be headed back to Michigan early Saturday morning for clients.

Any tips for relieving the stress of the back and forth life?

Do you ever feel completely overwhelmed? This last week and a half has been a blur. I feel overworked at my second job, and I’m functioning on very little sleep. It’s just one of those weeks where I’m just taking it all in and enjoying the little quiet time I have. I have lots of fun projects that I can’t wait to work on and share, but tonight, I’m just going to rest.

Until tomorrow, beauties!
