Reading Nook // Before and Progress

Do you have one of those spots that’s just a catch all for everything that doesn’t quite have a home? Please tell me I am not the only one! For me, it’s this little nook that catches everything- a Christmas wreath I made for my mom, pillows and blanket off the bed that just got moved downstairs, cardstock for scrapbooking that I haven’t made time to do in a while, clothes that have to be taken to donated, and if you look really close, even my aunt’s cat. (Don’t worry! She just found a quiet place to nap. haha!)

I decided I wanted to create a comfy little space to read. I cleared everything out and removed everything off the wall.

I found these feather and arrow wall decals at the Dollar Tree for $1 each.

I placed them on the wall to create a focal point. I wanted to make sure they were up high enough that when I add decorative pillows, the decals wouldn’t be covered.

Here’s the progress so far:

I made a cushion for the seat, and I’m trying to decide between making another cushion or putting up floating shelves for the books. Maybe both? What do you think?

P.S. Look for the cushion tutorial tomorrow!
